Our guests made the following comments following holidays at Ca'n Barraca:

"We arrived at the end of January for a two month extended holiday to a fantastic array of almond blossom in the field below the property, blue skies and sunshine on the terrace facing Mount Galatzo and two lemon trees loaded with lemons. Can Barracca has several terraces so always somewhere to sit to enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery. The house is fully equipped with every imaginable household item so very much a home from home feeling. The local village which is a five minute walk has two tiny supermarkets, three restaurants two of which are really good, a pharmacy and a cash machine. A five minute drive away is Calvia with more restaurants and a market on Monday morning. Our holiday couldn't have been more perfect and should you need anything during your stay there is a manager on the end of the phone who responds very quickly to your needs. We are hoping to return to this beautiful location very soon."

"Everything was perfect. Facilities very realy great. And such a nice place in nature nearby small towns and hiking places. It is not easy to find such a place! And we got really great support when there was electrical shut off. Thanks for the help to Mahel and Hugo! And to Alison for creating such a nice place. Best regards from four lucky germans. "

"This is our third year at Ca'n Barraca.  Each time we go, although we have a head start as we know the house, village and island well, our experience is very different.  Our holiday begins as soon as we arrive….the setting is just exquisite.  I love how it changes throughout the day.  The pool is a godsend.  The village is small, which for us is a bonus. There are two good restaurants….each different in vibe.  However we tend not to want to go out too much as the house and the BBQ fulfil our needs.  We like to do our fresh produce shopping at Santa Catalina market, about 20 minutes away.  On the way back we stock up on supermarket essentials (beer, water, wine etc). For us, Ca'n Barraca ticks our boxes…otherwise we would not go back for a third time.  It is a gem without being bling!"

"Ca'n Barraca is a haven of beauty and calm.  We stayed throughout the winter and felt at home immediately.  There are thoughtful and pretty touches everywhere, from a library of hiking books and comprehensive house guide to a fantastically equipped kitchen, office and outdoor seating nooks for BBQs and lounging in every kind of weather.  The views are straight out of a picture book.  In the garden we picked flowers, pomegranates and lemons.  From it, we watched winter storms tear across the mountains in the distance and lambs gambol in the blossoming almond orchard below.  We started several beautiful hikes from the house and loved the local bars (Bar Nou is an institution).  We drove to the nearest beaches within 15 minutes, and to vibrant Palma within 20.  Nadal the gardener kept the garden and pool impeccable, and Mahel the house manager responded quickly to all our needs.  Thank you for a chance to stay in such a special place."

"It's been two years since our last visit to the property, and the subtle improvements which have been made, in particular, the new doors and windows, are a great success.  Our sun-drenched afternoons sat on the patio, breaking bread and drinking the local wine are what memories are made of.  You really could not be in a better place anywhere in the world - we love Mallorca."

"This is the most perfect property. A piece of heaven! Surrounded by stunning views the location is ideal, close to the airport and other towns but far enough away to experience traditional Mallorca. The pool is beautiful with more than enough sunbathing space for everyone (very important!) With two dining areas outside and a dining room inside you are spoilt for choice. There is a fully equipped kitchen, with two fridges so you can fit the whole weeks shop in. The bedrooms have ample space to unpack and loads of coat hangers... the attention to detail in this property is spot on! We had the most wonderful week here, it's a very special place and I wish I was there now!"

"The villa was an oasis of tranquility! Beautiful surroundings, with wonderful views and blissful peace and quiet. There are lots of shady spots around the property to relax and different options for al fresco dining. Inside is very comfortable and well arranged with many personal touches and lovely fixtures and fittings. All in all a wonderful place to stay and thoroughly recommended."

"I have been here before and yet again I had the most perfect days away. Leaving an extremely stressful job, I disappeared to the most idyllic villa. Perfect rooms. Amazing pool. Stunning village and incredible view. I couldn't have asked for anything more. We cooked amazing meals, drank rosé on sun loungers, read books, and visited several other villages for drinks. Everything was stunning. The house was absolutely perfect. The bedrooms were great. Such cool decor and it all just worked so well. I would recommend this villa to everyone and anyone."

"This is a delightfully peaceful place for up to six people to have a vacation away from the crowds and at a pace they set for themselves. The walks are picturesque and there are some lovely places within easy travelling distance to enjoy the best of Mallorca. My family and friends found it idyllic, and we comprise a wide spectrum of ages above 12 years. The nearest comprehensive supermarket is 5km down the road in Paguera but there is a mini market, Post Office and a useful library in Es Capdella itself- with internet access. The local market at Calvia on Monday morning is not to be missed, fruit and vegetables being of a very high standard and variety. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who may have outgrown the in-crowd scenario. It is even easy to return to the airport by local transport."

"This is a beautiful Mallorquin property. The house is spacious and furbished to high standards. Outdoors, the garden, pool and terraces give onto a stunning view making outdoor dining particularly special. The property is perfectly located in the South West of the island: short distance to Palma (less than 30 kilometres) and even shorter distances to many other towns and ports offering the best of Mallorca. The house manager is excellent; very responsive. I cannot recommend this property more and look forward with much anticipation to go back again!"

"I spent a full four months at this idyllic and peaceful location in what was the worst winter for some years. The peace and quiet were second to none and the facilities in and at the finca were superb. It was perfect for walkers and the finca was maintained to a high standard with gardeners and a pool attendant. I would be very happy to return."

JOHN GRAHAM R. (United Kingdom) - Date 05/04/2010

"This Finca is a real delight! A hidden treasure at the edge of the village, overlooking an almond grove grazed by sheep, and the distant mountains - rustic charm with every modern comfort. The house was spotless and very well equipped...great to find food basics already there. The weather was fantastic for the whole of our stay and we had a great evening at the local restaurant Sa Vinya! Picking lemons for the G&T as the sun went down was a joy! We will definitely be booking again!"
